There are nearly one million people in jail in the United States for non-violent activities related to the use, possession, cultivation, transportation or sale of marijuana. The purpose of this site is to make available a place for everyone who supports the idea of Nojailforpot to sign his or her name, and make it proudly public for everyone to see. The people below have taken the significant step of putting their names to this important declaration, for all the country to see.

Making possession of a ubiquitous weed criminal is like criminalizing swimming in water.

I support your efforts, even though I make a living representing the people being "jailed" Do you advise people of the pure "economic" benefits of legalization? Or are you simple taking a smaller bit and wanting to limit jail for offenders? If legal- A "sin tax" like on alcohol would be best and would put our state and national economies on a real boom. Also, we could finally stop financing central and south american wars on drugs and humanity for the sake of moral decency. I also have to believe that the immigration issues would change dramatically if legalization happened. The "black market" of this country and the exporting countries would die on the vine. The downfall of the cartels and organized crime families would ultimately be a hugh victory for freedom and opportunities in these counties and those folks may stay were they are, not risk all to come to America What are the real options to change things. Do you plan a State by State initiative to put "nojailforpot" on ballots? Why would that bind the almighty Federal Government who has again used its "supremecy" to disregard the medical pot initiatives in several states. THe real issue to me is "putting the federal governement" back to the place that our founders thought best-furnish a militia and defend our borders. Otherwise, the states shall govern! Keep up the efforts.
