There are nearly one million people in jail in the United States for non-violent activities related to the use, possession, cultivation, transportation or sale of marijuana. The purpose of this site is to make available a place for everyone who supports the idea of Nojailforpot to sign his or her name, and make it proudly public for everyone to see. The people below have taken the significant step of putting their names to this important declaration, for all the country to see.

Marijuana users have been stereotyped and mistreated for decades, and it needs to end now. The same people you see every day: lawyers, doctors, grocery store workers, teachers, are all potential recreational marijuana users. Why should we be punished for hurting no one and keeping out of trouble with our weed?

Cannabis sativa is a plant which has so many beneficial uses for society, that I feel morally obligated to advocate for it's liberation. From hemp fiber to save the planet to medicine for the ill, the social utility that can be obtained from marijuana is astounding and well documented. The economic implications of this change in policy could become a great source of income to battle mounting deficits in the federal budget as the result of an increased military spending program.

In a society where alcohol is legal it's just insane that a mild drug likemarijuana can be illegal for over the counter sale.To go even further how can xanax, oxycodone, oxycotin, riddelin(not sure on spelling),valium etc,etc come on people is marijuana any more narcotic or dangerous than these drugs. How can it be illegal?

legalize marijuana!

To incriminate someone who merely smokes or sells marijuana, is like locking up a produce stand owner for selling a certain brand of cucumbers many people don't like. How do the two relate? It's simple: Just because not everyone likes it, doesn't mean it should be made unavailable to those who agree with it. If you can't handle the idea of marijuana smoking, then don't do it and leave it to us trained professionals.

Prison affects the mind more than does marijuana.
