Notable People News Wire
We would like to thank our newest Signers - Aaron Nulf, Michelle Boden, Chris Boden, and Timothy Richardson!

There are nearly one million people in jail in the United States for non-violent activities related to the use, possession, cultivation, transportation or sale of marijuana. The purpose of this site is to make available a place for everyone who supports the idea of Nojailforpot to sign his or her name, and make it proudly public for everyone to see. The people below have taken the significant step of putting their names to this important declaration, for all the country to see.

I think this site is a great idea. I do think that it should be on every site that has anything to do with marijuana. I have seen 100's and 100's of site with marijuana and only have found this site today. Millions of people would sign if the Decloration were more know. Free the minds of our youth stop the lies that governments tell for big business and polictical gain. Only families have suffered in the War on Drugs. DARE programs seem to be a gestopo type invasion of a private home. But our local, state and federal government fund this program, support the devostating out come to families. Thank you for this opportunity to be a part of this great Declaration. Grace :)

I see alcohol as, far more dangerous than marijuana. The only "evils" associated with marijuana are the direct result of it's prohibition. With the end of prohibition, so ends the "evils" attributed to marijuana.

There should be no penalty for smoking cannabis, responcibly. If alchohol and tobacco are tolerated in this country then why isn't cannabis? Plus, alchohol and tobacco kill thousands each year. How many people die from cannabis yearly? I have never heard of 1 death. You would have to be an idiot to think you can over-dose on cannabis. Pot should be legal instead of alchohol. But then again, there should be no laws to tell YOU what YOU can and can't put in YOUR OWN body. The War on Drugs is a waste of time and money. Who is our government to tell us we can't enjoy God's creations? Our governments preach too much blasphemy. But I won't get into how unjust and bad off our government is. The US government that is. Our government and many others need to go a different route on the WoD, or should we say the War on Some Drugs. Stop treating pot like it is a hard drug, it's not. It should be tolerated like tobacco and alchohol. It's time to stop putting people in jail/prison for smoking God's herb.

I'm from Denmark (so sorry for not filling out the information correctly, but your system wouldn't let me do it without "cheating") but would just like to expres my support. I believe in a system like the one in the Netherlands, where growing and smoking pot, hash, etc. is not illegal. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be like that all over the world, including my own country, which is - luckily - somewhat more liberal than USA in this case.
