There are nearly one million people in jail in the United States for non-violent activities related to the use, possession, cultivation, transportation or sale of marijuana. The purpose of this site is to make available a place for everyone who supports the idea of Nojailforpot to sign his or her name, and make it proudly public for everyone to see. The people below have taken the significant step of putting their names to this important declaration, for all the country to see.

I have been a legalization advocate for 22 years. As a political science major at Augsburg College, I was the sole person in my political science graduation class who strongly advocated for drug legalization. The amount of money we spend on this failed war can be put to better use. Why should the government legislate what we put in our bodies? Nanny state if you ask me.

this is inevitable. responsible adults and free born americans are responsible enough to make their own choices. my country needs to stop harrassing its own citizens for things such as this. a waste of money for everyone, and frankly, whether or not it is legal, or not, if someone wants it, they will get it. no matter what you say or do. so, with this understood, i demand the us government corner this market, and make not just what they make by harrassing others in some parts of the nation, but also from taxing it, outright, stifly. i am for almost all the other marijuana laws to remain intact, and as they are for the next 20 years or so. however, you should not be relegated to jail for anything under 2 ounces. nothing can be done with 2 ounces of pot. period. the will of the people is pretty well understood on this nonsensical topic. LIBERTY MUST TAKE THE DAY and like i said, i am angered the us government, in total, is not doing their job by making all they can on this commodity. terrible business, what the hell are we hiring you people for? and paying your wage? eh? to harrass us and put us in jail for living our lives? JOIN THE FREAKIN PLANET WILL YA. THIS WHOLE ORDEAL IS SIMPLY NOT PRACTICAL. LEAVE THESE PEOPLE ALONE. thank you

Wasting tax payers money on locking up people doing non violent acts is wrong. Spend more money on investigation and correcting all police offficers mistakes daily. So we can stop letting real criminals go

Prisoners being held for the peaceful, non-violent possession, sale, transport or cultivation of cannabis hemp must be released immediately. Money and property seized must be returned. Criminal records must be wiped clean, amnesty granted and some sort of reparations paid for time served. These cannabis prisoners are the real victims of this monstrous crime against humanity called the “War on Drugs.” “All laws which can be violated without doing anyone any injury are laughed at.” - Spinoza, (c. 1660.) Federal Judge Francis Young in 1988 called “one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man.” May, might, could, and possibly are not scientific conclusions." Dr. Fred Oerther, M.D., September 1986 The police, prosecutors and prison guards should not be in charge of which herbal therapies people may use to treat their personal health problems. cannabis prohibition is a counterproductive fraud. Cannabis prohibition is closing down and they are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and, apparently, they are starting to get scared.

the way i feel about this issue is if it isn't hurting me my family and or society and or destroying property it shouldn't be illegal. why should my tax dollars go towards arresting and jailing cannabis users. and also i would like to say that currently this drug war has caused more chaos than it solved. my twin brothers can get all kinds of drugs in school but what they cant get or have a hard time getting are cigarettes and alcohol why because its legal and in a adult regulated market. i hear people say what about the kids.but what happend to parents being parents and teaching their children wright from wrong thats all i got thank you

No powders, no pills, no needles. If it grows in the earth it is probably ok. How many patients need to become addicted to opiates before we realized that marijuana could save lives.

The war on drugs has failed. Marijuana is harmless to the masses and incredibly harmless to non users.
