There are nearly one million people in jail in the United States for non-violent activities related to the use, possession, cultivation, transportation or sale of marijuana. The purpose of this site is to make available a place for everyone who supports the idea of Nojailforpot to sign his or her name, and make it proudly public for everyone to see. The people below have taken the significant step of putting their names to this important declaration, for all the country to see.

I see nothing wrong with marijuana. More people have died using other drugs legal and illegal. Have you ever heard on someone stealing, killing, wrecking there car, or over dose on MARIJUANA? of course not. Now lets talk about alcohol shall we.... A lot people claim marijuana is a gateway drug to harder drugs, thats just an excuse. If anyone uses anything harder then mary jane then that is there stupity and they deserve to go to jail or die. Its those people who ruin it for the rest of us. Why is it the bad guys always make it harder for the good people? There is only one bad side of legalizing marijuana is that the government will be involved and we have seen what they have done with our economy! Not to mention they can raise the cost. Its affordable now, they get there hands in on it who knows what we will be paying. look at cigarettes!!

I firmly believe that pot is the safest thing out there. I believe that it is even safer than most, if not all, of the medications I have to take for my various pains and disorders. If it were packaged and sold along the lines of how liquor and cigarettes are sold, the government would likely make a killing from the taxing. I am not for just handing it to the underaged, but when people have reached the legal age and can decide for themselves, I see no reason why they can't have it.

I have MS, and I have tried marijuana. By relaxing the muscles it does help to relieve the pain, and makes it easier to move. When smoked in a water pipe, the carcinogenic properties of the smoke is removed. So I am all for legalizing it.

We spend more money to jail people than we do to educate our children. We spent more money on drug arrests than we do on the war for 911. We spend way too much money on people who smoke pot rather than hard criminals. We fill our jails with violaters rather than hard criminals.

I don't think the use of marijuana should be treated any different than the use of alchohol. It shouldn't be available to minors, used while driving, or before work. But any adult of legal age should be able to partake expecialy if perscribed by a medical doctor. I suffer from cronic pain and know that i would benifit from the use of marijuana, however because it is illegal if my Dr. ever finds any trace of it in my system he will not treat me anymore and that would be devistating for me.

it is highly resourceful... food, clothing, hemp jewelry, bags, shoes, lotions, soaps, shampooes, conditioners, incense, oils, it can also be used spiritually, ritually, and medicinal as well as relaxation and other BENEFICIAL things.

It is ridiculous how much of our money is spent by the government to control use of marijuana. Our country needs to observe the facts of marijuana's cause and effects, and come up with a different strategy, because criminalizing isn't doing anything but wasting our money and law enforcements time. And our companies substance abuse policies are the same way. Employees can come to work hung over from drinking alcohol the night before, and be worthless the following day, while the most productive person would get fired for using marijuana a week prior. It just isn't right.
